Bon Voyage Day
Our send-off concert was, I think, one of the best concerts I’ve ever directed. The group has bonded already, the sound/blend is lovely, the hours of extra rehearsal have fixed (almost) all details, Christ the King has a gorgeous acoustic, and the audience was totally with us from the start. Dedicated “Where There is Light in the Soul” to Neda and choked up doing so–so sorry–almost couldn’t talk. The Bruckner was amazing. Mark Miller and Amanda Harberg were there. I don’t know if that entire repertoire will be sung again all at once on tour, but that concert was to me, the start of tour.
I’m anxious and excited and trying to clear out my inbox–can’t wait to be on the plane with only singing and Spain ahead! Good luck to all the Rutter folks back home!
